What makes the Brain PerformX brain training program different?
Historically, post mTBI/Concussion protocols consisted of rest until symptoms subside, completely removing an individual from activity. New research is challenging this theory and encouraging a fine balance between resting the brain and engaging the brain. Brain Performance Training aids this fine balance during the recovery process by assisting clients to self monitor symptoms and learn symptom recovery techniques while engaging the brain in cognitive training and cognitive strengthening activities.
In order to develop an accurate and scientific treatment plan, we utilize a variety of post concussion/ mTBI evaluation tools. The evaluation process will consist of an initial visit to discuss symptoms and complete an online cognitive assessment. This will be followed up with a visit to discuss results and make recommendations for a customized plan to assist you in maximizing your recovery.
Each brain injury is as unique and different as each individual. Even concussions are considered a brain injury and should not be taken lightly. What you do and how you treat your concussion may be the difference between a strong recovery or delayed long term symptoms including brain fog, memory problems, headaches, mood swings, irritability, anxiety etc. There
If you are suffering long term symptoms for a concussion or mTBI there is hope.
Because brain injuries and concussions can cause long term problems, it is important to get the best care possible. Our program specializes in concussions/ mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI) to assist in maximizing your recovery as soon as possible.
